PAYGATE · PAYMENTS & RELIABILITY · 2025

Turning failed payment moments into measurable product gains

Customers were dropping out of critical payment journeys while operational teams had fragmented visibility into failure points.

My role

Connected customer signals, transaction data, UAT findings and cross-functional teams to prioritise reliability improvements.

How I worked

Mapped the journey, clarified acceptance criteria, coordinated QA/UAT, tracked failure patterns and aligned product, engineering and operations.

Outcome

PayGate transaction success improved from 93% to 98%, while customer journey completion increased from 22% to 31%, supporting acquisition and stronger merchant confidence.

PayGate processed approximately $100 million (₦140 billion) in monthly collections, with volumes exceeding this during peak periods.

0→1 PRODUCT · SYNCRA

Designing a financial co-pilot for people whose money does not fit one neat account

Most budgeting tools assume clean salary cycles and complete bank data. Multi-income earners, cash users and people with several accounts live a messier reality.

Discovery

Focused the problem on fragmented financial data, weak visibility and the emotional load of keeping everything in one’s head.

Product decisions

Designed statement upload, manual and chat entry, confirmed-data flows, business/personal separation, budgets, debt and savings goals.

Build

Led vision, research, prioritisation and testing; prototyped with AI tools and shipped a React/Vite, Supabase and Gemini-powered pilot.

ENTERPRISE DIGITAL CHANNELS · FIDELITY BANK

Making corporate e-banking performance visible and actionable

At enterprise scale, product performance is never just a dashboard problem. Adoption, service stability, customer support, operations and commercial priorities all collide.

My role

Coordinated digital-channel performance across stakeholders and translated portfolio data into priorities, escalations and growth actions.

Scale

Supported monthly corporate-banking transaction values of ₦4.4 trillion to ₦5.0 trillion and approximately 2 million transactions.

Money movement

Coordinate corporate transfer issues, reversals, POS settlement queries and FX digital-transfer requests with support and operations teams. Work across Legal, Compliance and IT on funds-transfer, balance-enquiry and statement API requests.

EARLY-STAGE PRODUCT STRATEGY · FIDMART · FIDELITY BANK

Defining a connected commerce proposition for Nigerian SMEs

Many small businesses discover customers on social platforms, then manage payments, orders, inventory, delivery and records across disconnected tools. FidMart is a proposed Fidelity-owned commerce ecosystem intended to bring the core journey together.

Problem framing

Mapped the fragmented merchant journey across discovery, checkout, payment, order management, settlement visibility and support.

Product definition

Developed the product rationale, MVP scope, user journeys, phased roadmap, controls, KPIs, governance and pilot approach for executive review.

Current stage

The concept is undergoing board approval. Discovery, business-case validation, solution design and development have not yet started.

Public-safe summary: commercial terms, internal controls, vendors and confidential operational details are intentionally excluded. No launch or outcome claims are made.

FINANCIAL REPORTING & TEAM LEADERSHIP · GTBANK · 2022–2025

Turning financial data into weekly decisions and portfolio growth

As a relationship-management team lead, I needed to make the team’s financial position and performance clear enough to guide priorities and track progress.

Build the view

Built my team’s balance sheet and income statement from scratch using data provided by Financial Control (FinCon), bringing balances, income and profitability into a usable reporting view.

Monitor and act

Reviewed performance weekly, identified gaps and translated findings into team priorities and growth actions. Tracked results and adjusted execution alongside customer service and digital-adoption work.

Outcomes

Grew a managed portfolio from $10M to $13M and delivered 73% year-on-year profit growth. Prepared budgets, forecasts and performance reports for leadership.

Transferable product skills: defining success measures, interpreting data, prioritising action, understanding customer needs, aligning stakeholders and reviewing outcomes. This work developed my financial-reporting and performance-management experience.

HOW I WORK

Clear thinking, visible decisions and steady execution.

I do my best work where customer needs, business realities and technical constraints meet. My approach is structured enough to create clarity and practical enough to keep delivery moving.

01

Frame the real problem

I start with the user journey, evidence, business context and constraints—not a preselected feature.

02

Choose what matters now

I translate strategy into near-term priorities, define success measures and make explicit scope trade-offs.

03

Make the work buildable

I turn decisions into flows, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases and clear ownership.

04

Build, test and learn

I collaborate across engineering, design, operations and commercial teams, using AI-assisted tools to prototype and debug where useful.

05

Close the loop

I track product and business signals, communicate progress transparently, and use what we learn to shape the next iteration.

What working with me looks like

Autonomous: I move work forward, surface risks early and ask for support when a decision genuinely needs it.

Cross-functional: I connect product, engineering, operations, compliance, sales and customer-facing teams around the same outcome.

Commercial: I care about adoption, reliability, revenue, operational effort and customer trust—not shipping for shipping’s sake.

Iterative: I prefer the smallest useful solution, tested quickly, with room to learn before expanding scope.

ABOUT

Commercial enough to care about growth. Product-minded enough to ask why.

I work across the full product arc: understanding the problem, shaping the proposition, aligning stakeholders, making scope decisions, supporting delivery, testing the experience and measuring what changed. Before product management, I led relationship-management work at GTBank. Building financial reports, monitoring performance weekly and translating customer and business evidence into team priorities developed the analytical and leadership skills I now bring to product decisions.

My toolkit spans discovery, product strategy, roadmaps, PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritisation, Agile delivery, QA/UAT, AI-assisted prototyping, payment operations, APIs and performance analysis.
